VĮ Kauno regiono keliai
State Enterprise Kauno regiono keliai was established by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Lithuania in 1995. It was founded while incorporating the six operating road maintenance companies located within the Kaunas county area, with the Head office in Kaunas city. SE Kauno regiono keliai has been delegated authority and responsibility to carry out maintenance, repair and inventory of national roads and road facilities within the region area. Besides, the enterprise is involved in issue of road design, construction and repair of roads and lay-bys, and city streets, production of sand, gravel and asphalt-concrete mix, hire out of road construction machinery and specialized motor-transport.
In September 2016 the total number of employees amounted to 330, with 55 among them having a higher university education. The key goals of the Enterprise are unanimously settled by Highlanders and Lowlanders (Samogitians), Dzukai (inhabitants of south-east Lithuania) and Suduvites. Generally safe and comfortable traffic conditions on the regional road network – from Elektrenai up to Kryzkalnis, from Balbieriskis up to Gudziunai, is the result of the united efforts of all the employees.
